Indian Sandstone Patio with Artificial Grass in Middleton

This project in Middleton was a complete garden overhaul, designed to replace a tired, high-maintenance space with a clean, modern, and practical outdoor area. The goal was to create two distinct zones: a large, premium patio for relaxing and entertaining, and a pristine lawn area, using a combination of natural stone and high-quality artificial grass for the perfect low-maintenance finish.

Before

The garden was cluttered and overgrown. An old, worn-out patio and a small, tired patch of artificial grass were surrounded by unruly bushes and weeds, making the space feel messy and difficult to manage.

Full Site Clearance

The project began with a comprehensive clearance of the entire garden. We removed the old paving slabs, the worn-out artificial grass, and all the overgrown shrubs and weeds to take the area back to a blank canvas.

Excavation & Sub-Base

The entire garden was excavated to the required depth. We then installed a new, robust sub-base of MOT Type 1 hardcore, which was thoroughly compacted to create a solid and perfectly level foundation for both the new patio and the lawn.

Indian Sandstone Patio Installation

A large patio area was laid using premium Indian Sandstone flags in a varied, multi-sized pattern. The rich, natural tones of the stone create a warm and inviting space. The patio was then pointed with a high-quality jointing compound for a durable, clean finish.

Artificial Grass Installation

The remaining area was prepared for the artificial grass. A charcoal block paver edge was installed to create a neat and defined border between the patio and the lawn. We then laid a high-quality, realistic artificial grass, creating a perfect, lush green lawn that requires no mowing or watering.
