Block Paved Driveway in Bury
This project in Bury was all about creating a stunning first impression. The mission was to replace an old, narrow tarmac lane with a spacious and impeccably designed block paved driveway, maximising kerb appeal and providing a durable, high-quality finish.
Before
The property was served by a basic, ageing tarmac drive that felt narrow and enclosed. it didn’t reflect the quality of the home and offered little in terms of design or visual appeal.
Demolition & Excavation
Our first job was to break up and remove the old tarmac and any existing base layers. We excavated the entire area, clearing away tonnes of old material to create a fresh, perfectly graded canvas for the new driveway.
Laying the Foundations
With the ground prepared, we laid a substantial sub-base of MOT Type 1 hardcore, which was then thoroughly compacted. This was followed by a layer of screeded sand, creating a perfectly smooth and level bed for the pavers to sit on.
Paving with Precision
This is where the artistry comes in. Our team meticulously laid the main brindle blocks, working alongside the double charcoal border. Every block was carefully placed to create the clean lines and sweeping curves that define this design, including the smart detailing around the new doorstep.
Finishing Touches
Once all the blocks were laid, kiln-dried sand was brushed into all the joints and compacted with a vibrating plate. This locks all the pavers tightly together, ensuring a strong and durable surface that will stand the test of time.
