🏗 Project Overview
This project involved the complete transformation of a tired and uneven front driveway into a smart, durable Tegula block paved driveway finished in Burnt Willow with a contrasting charcoal border.
The client wanted a traditional yet contemporary finish that enhanced kerb appeal while providing long-term strength and low maintenance. The chosen colour combination complements the property beautifully and creates strong visual definition along the driveway edges.

This project delivers a dramatic transformation from a worn driveway into a clean, modern paved surface that enhances both usability and visual appeal.
1️⃣ Site Clearance & Excavation
The existing driveway surface was fully excavated and all unsuitable materials were removed. The ground was reduced to the correct depth to allow for a strong foundation and effective drainage falls away from the property.
All waste materials were responsibly removed from site.
2️⃣ Ground Stabilisation & Membrane Installation
A heavy-duty geotextile membrane was installed to prevent ground movement and contamination between soil layers, helping to maintain long-term stability.
3️⃣ Sub-Base Installation
A reinforced MOT Type 1 hardcore sub-base was installed and compacted in multiple layers using vibrating plate compaction. This provides the structural strength required to support vehicle traffic and prevents settlement over time.
4️⃣ Edging & Border Installation
Concrete edge restraints were installed to lock the paving securely in place. A contrasting charcoal block paving border was laid around the perimeter, framing the driveway and enhancing the overall design.
5️⃣ Block Paving Installation
The main driveway area was laid using Tegula block paving in Burnt Willow, arranged to achieve a traditional yet modern aesthetic. Careful attention was paid to alignment, spacing, and joint consistency to ensure a flawless finish.
6️⃣ Jointing, Compaction & Final Finish
Kiln-dried sand was brushed into all joints and compacted to lock the blocks together securely. The surface was cleaned and inspected prior to handover.
