Full Front Garden Transformation in Middleton
This was a major kerb appeal project in Middleton, involving a complete redesign of the front of the property. The mission was to replace a dated, worn-out driveway and an uneven lawn with a stylish, cohesive, and modern landscape, featuring a premium Modena 50 granite block paved driveway and a brand-new turf lawn.
Before
The property’s frontage was let down by an old, herringbone-patterned block driveway that had faded and sunk in places. The lawn area was undefined and did little to complement the house, creating a tired and disjointed look.
Full Site Excavation
The first job was a total clear-out. We excavated the entire front area, removing the old block paving, digging out the tired lawn, and stripping everything back to a bare canvas. This allowed us to reshape and re-level the entire space from scratch.
Building the Foundations
With the ground prepared, we laid and compacted a substantial MOT Type 1 hardcore sub-base across the whole area. This creates a rock-solid foundation for both the driveway and the new lawn, ensuring long-term stability and preventing any future settlement.
Paving & Drainage Installation
Our skilled team then began meticulously laying the Modena 50 granite blocks, creating the main driveway and pathways. A key feature was the installation of a linear drainage channel against the house to effectively manage surface water. The beautiful, curving charcoal border was also installed at this stage, defining the boundary between the hardscaping and the new lawn.
Turfing & Finishing Touches
The final step was to bring the new garden area to life. We spread high-quality topsoil, raked and levelled it to perfection, and then laid rolls of premium-grade turf. Once laid, the pavers were jointed with kiln-dried sand to lock them firmly in place.
