Materials Used

  1. Staffordshire Pink Gravel
  2. Charcoal Block Paving for Edging
  3. MOT Type 1 Hardcore
  4. Geotextile Weed Prevention Membrane
  5. Indian Sandstone Circle Kit

Construction Stages

  1. Site Clearance & Excavation:
    • We began by excavating the existing tarmac driveway and clearing the area of all old materials. our team removed the surface using a mini digger and broke up the sub-base to prepare for a new installation. All debris was safely removed and disposed of, leaving a clean foundation to build upon.
  2. Foundation Preparation:
    • To ensure a solid and long-lasting base, we installed a weed-resistant membrane over the entire surface. This was followed by a deep sub-base of MOT Type 1, which was levelled and mechanically compacted. This provided the necessary drainage and strength for the gravel surface and block paving installation.
  3. Block Paving & Feature Circle:
    • The edges of the driveway and paths were lined with durable charcoal block paving bricks to create a crisp and defined border. A standout feature of this project was the installation of an Indian sandstone circle kit, positioned in a recessed area beside the driveway.
  4. Gravel Laying:
    • We finished the surface with a layer of premium Staffordshire pink gravel, chosen for its attractive warm tones and excellent drainage properties. The gravel was evenly spread, raked and levelled to create a tidy and accessible finish, beautifully framed by the charcoal edging.

Conclusion

This project beautifully blends practicality with aesthetic appeal, giving the property a clean, traditional finish that enhances its overall kerb appeal. The combination of Staffordshire pink gravel, block edging, and the Indian stone circle creates a durable, low maintenance surface that’s both functional and eye catching, a smart investment for any home.
