Project Overview – Porcelain Patio Installation in Blackburn

We recently completed a stylish porcelain patio installation for a modern home in Blackburn. The customer wanted to enhance their outdoor space with a clean, low maintenance solution that would complement the brick exterior of the house and provide a functional area for relaxing and entertaining.

Before and After Comparison

Before:

• The garden area was mostly rubble and patchy lawn, offering little usable space and lacking visual appeal.

After:

• A sleek, modern porcelain patio now spans the full width of the property, complete with neat edging and clean transitions around walls, drains, and the gate. It’s a beautiful transformation that adds both style and function.

Construction Stages

1. Ground Preparation:
   • The project began with careful excavation and clearance of the existing area. A stable sub-base was laid using compacted hardcore, ensuring a solid and level foundation for the new patio. All drainage and service access points were considered and neatly integrated into the layout.
2. Installation:
   • High-quality vitrified porcelain slabs were laid on a full mortar bed and aligned with precise spacers to achieve clean lines and consistent joints. Each slab was hand-cut where necessary to fit around drain covers and edges, and a charcoal block edging was added to create a defined and elegant border. We also laid a matching pathway along the side of the property using the same porcelain material, giving a seamless and contemporary finish.
3. Finishing Touches:
   • We paid close attention to detail around drainage outlets and the house walls to ensure water runoff was managed correctly. White decorative stone were used along one fence line to provide a neat and contrasting finish to the new patio edges.
