At Stone Made Drives, we receive a wide range of enquiries every week, and it’s always great to see so many homeowners taking pride in their outdoor spaces. From minor repairs to full driveway installations, no two jobs are ever the same, and that’s exactly how we like it!
Here’s a quick look at some of the most recent enquiries we’ve received:
Patio Enquiries:
With the increasing temperatures and outdoor living more popular than ever, we’ve seen a big rise in enquiries about patio areas
- I am looking to obtain a quote for the laying of 70sqm of porcelain slabs (at at cost of £30 per sqm) for a property in Leyland. Are you able to provide an estimation of cost for the labour involved for such a project please?
- We’ve just moved into a new property and the back garden is mostly grass. We’re looking to install a low-maintenance patio area for seating and a BBQ. Something modern but not too slippery as we have two young children. What would you recommend?
- We’ve just had an extension built with bi-fold doors and want to add a small patio area that lines up with the new threshold. Ideally we want something flush with the doors, easy to clean, and suitable for a few chairs and a coffee table.
Driveway Enquiries:
By far our most frequent enquiry, and for good reason. People are looking to improve kerb appeal and add long-lasting value to their homes.
- We are looking for a price and lead time on the following:
Lay only 200x100mm permeable block paving to the parking bays and front of house areas
Lay only 200x100mm non-permeable block paving to the back gardens and sides of houses
We would be looking for works to commence ideally on Monday 2nd June and be complete within 2 weeks.
Please forward by return your keenest prices along with availability. - I have a front yard area ( circa 35m2 ) and need someone to lay stone / sand / paviours including 2 recessed manhole covers. Materials will be provided, would you be interested? House is in Accrington – thank you.
- My elderly parents live in Bury and need a driveway that’s flat, non-slip, and easy to walk on. Ideally something that looks neat but only needs minimal upkeep. Their current surface is gravel and it’s become very uneven.
- We currently have space for one car but want to expand the driveway across the front lawn to fit a second vehicle. Can you match the existing surface or suggest a suitable upgrade for the whole area?
Other Service Enquiries:
- Hi, we live in Rochdale and we’re tired of our back garden turning into a mud pit every winter. We’d like to replace the turf with artificial grass to make it usable all year round – especially for our dog and kids. The area is around 30m² and slightly sloped.
- Every time it rains, our patio floods near the back doors. The water just sits there and doesn’t drain properly. We’d like to get this fixed before winter – maybe with a channel drain or soakaway, what would you suggest?
- Our garden is on a bit of a slope and it’s not very usable. We’d like to level out two main areas, maybe with retaining sleepers or a small wall, and then add a patio and some artificial lawn. Can you help design and quote for the full job?
