block paved patio lancashire 06

For this block paving project, our block paving specialists in Bury were asked to remove the old block paving that was laid to the front of the garden. There was also some gravel, stones, some random paving slabs and a brick built garden feature that needed to be dug up and disposed off before the patio could be laid.

All trees, bushes and shrubs were to remain.

We started by excavating the whole area to a suitable depth. We removed all the broken concrete, paving slabs and the old block paving that we dug up. We then laid a membrane sheeting on top of the this to prevent any moss and weeds from growing through.

The next stage was to add type 1 MOT stone to create the foundations. A sharp sand screed was added and levelled off using a spirit level ensuring the area was flat. We then started laying the charcoal coloured blocks around the edge of the garden creating a lovely border. The block paving that was going into the middle of this was then laid in a 45 degree pattern. We fitted a new drainage system using acro drains. These would prevent the driveway from flooding when it rained.

This project was finished in the time frame given. Both ourselves and our customers were extremely happy with the finished results. Our customers said they loved their new patio and gave us a glowing review.
