Front Pathway and Steps Project in Clitheroe

There are many elements which will enhance the kerb appeal of a home. The exterior walls, the type of windows, unique landscaping accents, and even the condition of the roof are all common examples. However, steps and walkways are just as important. Not only can these transform the personality of any property, but they serve decidedly functional purposes.

We were recently contacted by a customer in Clitheroe who required our team to renovate an existing front pathway as well as a series of steps leading up to the front entrance. How did we tackle this project and what was the end result? If you are curious to learn more, you will find the information below quite interesting.

How Did We Begin?

Regardless of the task at hand, the first step always involves consulting with the customer. We will explain the installation process and answer any questions that they may have. We believe that establishing a foundation of transparency is always one of the keys to success.

In terms of this project, we then began by removing a series of old paving stones that had become damaged. After these stones and nearby debris were discarded, the physical installation process could commence.

The Use of Brown Indian Sandstone Paving Slabs

There are several advantages attributed to Indian sandstone. Its warm brown tones provide an “organic” feel to a property and they can be used to accentuate the exterior of the home. This material is also slightly porous; addressing common drainage concerns. Indian sandstone can be cut to nearly any shape imaginable and it is also extremely durable.

Once cut to the proper dimensions, each stone was laid in place by hand upon a subsurface that had already been levelled and compacted. The slabs were used to create an eye-catching front walkway and a series of entranceway steps.

More than Mere Functionality

The customer can now expect to enjoy years of continuous use without having to worry about unsightly paving slabs or uneven surfaces. Furthermore, these Indian sandstone surfaces completely transformed the exterior of the home and they worked in synergy with the existing brick walls.

Of course, this is only one of the many services offered by Stone Made Drives. Here are some other possibilities:

  • Driveways
  • Walls and brickwork
  • Patios and decks
  • Disabled access solutions
  • Landscaping

Whether you are less than satisfied with the appearance of a current entranceway or you wish to upgrade the appearance of your entire property, why not give us a call? We are always pleased to schedule a consultation at a convenient time.
