tegular block paving lancashire 11

For this project, our driveway specialists were asked to install a new driveway using tegula paving. This type of paving is durable, hard wearing and very pleasing to the eye.

As you can see from the images below, our clients already had an old block paving driveway installed. They wanted this removed along with some of the turf that was in front of the garage and the bungalow. We were also asked to remove an old path way that went down the side of the property. This was going to be replaced with the tegula paving too.

To start with, we used a grab lorry to excavate the area until we reached the desired level. All the old block paving, soil and debris was removed. We then needed to prepare the base. Once this was done, a layer of sand was laid on top of this.

We needed to install new ACCO drains and the soak aways around the property. This was done by us digging up the area and placing the drains inside this on a bed of mortar. This would keep the drains in place for many years to come.

The next step was to lay a layer of concrete on to the whole area which was then leveled off.

The tegula paving could then be laid. For this project, we used a dark grey coloured edging that was placed around one side of the property creating a half moon shaped border. We used a few more of these tegula blocks on the other side of the driveway entrance. We then created another border going around the driveway and down the pathway to the side of the property using a trombone charcoal coloured edging. Inside of this, we laid ash coloured tegula paving blocks. To make the driveway look more effective, we used 3 different sizes which our clients loved.

This made their driveway look unique. To say they were really happy with their new driveway was an understatement. It changed the whole look of their home.
